Thandie Newton‘s just made herself a little bit more likable on my index of celebrities by coming out against Vogue magazine for its (historic, in my humble widdle opinion) lack of diversity in its array of magazine covers.
How often has Vogue magazine had black, or Hispanic, or Asian models or celebs on its covers? I can’t think of any, but then again, I don’t read Vogue reguarly in all fairness, but Mrs. Jefe does and she can’t recall any, either.
But my point is that Vogue seldom has any minority women on its covers, and I can’t imagine why they would shun entire groups of people-groups who have plenty of money (at least they used to) to spend on cosmetics and clothing.
Is Thandie Newton justified in her opinion and fury? Absolutely. Will Vogue now begin featuring more diverse women on its covers as a result? Nope.
