According to a news piece from the “New York Daily News,” online at http://www.NYDailyNews.com, dated August 16th, 2011, writer Oren Yaniv wrote an interesting article in which former Vulcan Society President Paul Washington says that racism is rampant in the FDNY.
Below is a link to that article. And if you look just a little further below that link, in the Related articles section, you’ll see some links to other articles about the FDNY and allegations of racism:

Protest Outside of Murdoch Home Calls for End to FOX News Race-Baiting

So, protestors outside of Murdoch‘s home are calling for an end to FOX news corporation’s race-baiting ways and that’s going to cause Rupert and family to reconsider? Fat chance of that happening, right?

As long as FOX makes money from it and can divide and conquer, there’s little to no chance of them suddenly finding “truth” through accurate journalism.

Anyway, let me back off and provide a direct link to the piece and then hear what your informed thoughts and feelings are on FOX’s race-baiting ways:

Interrace Celebrity Bio: Halle Berry

Halle Berry 2004 in Hamburg Germany

Image via Wikipedia. Alright men, take a chill pill and a deep breath. And women: Ain't Halle's dress pretty? Huh? And that weave is nice, too.

Okay, guys, put away the hankees and tissues. You know what I’m talking about. It’s disgusting.

Anyway, here’s a link to our first Interrace Celebrity Bio, for Halle Berry. The woman is attractive to alot of men (and women), and she seems to be fairly self-composed and competent as actors (and actresses) go. But what do we really know about her? I’m a firm believer that the more you know about a person’s inner struggles and subsequent victories, the more interesting they become-and the more we get from reading their books, or watching their movies or television programs.

So, kick back, eat some popcorn (or bacon-wrapped cheese wedges) and read this bio of Halle Berry and then let us know what may have surprised you about her life story and background. Ready? Here goes:

Seal, English soul singer-songwriter

Image via Wikipedia. Hey, he DOES have a good voice.

Well, well, well, Askmen.com has an interesting little article on interracial dating, featuring a kind of creepy photography of Heidi Klum recoiling from Seal as he tries to kiss her.

Anyway, the article written by Dr. Wendy Walsh, proposes that a woman’s “special monthly” cycle (that men cannot fathom) influences how she is attracted (or not) to men outside of her “racial” boundary lines.

I guess that means in lay terms, that if a woman is in a particularly foaming-at-the-mouth, I’d-like-to-punch-your-face-through-the-other-side-of-your-head moment, she may feel like dealing with male harassment? Or adhering (or breaking from) socially-acceptable norms?

Your humble El Jefe has his own views on the matter, but far be it for moi to try to influence your emotional and spiritual peregrinations, friends. Read the piece and let me know if it makes sense to you.

Biography Revives Push to Reopen Malcolm X Case

Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X meet bef...

Image via Wikipedia. Malcolm X. One day the man will get the respect, understanding, justice, and movie, he deserves. But I ain't holding my breath. Read the biography review and let us know your take on it.

Brother Malcolm. Just to read those words brings a heaviness to my heart. He is and was and always will be one of the most misunderstood and much-maligned truly individualistic and idiosyncratic civil rights leaders to have fought during the tumultuous 60s.

To say that the Shabazz family has been through Purgatory and back is an understatement of a highest order, but they remain. And Brother Malcolm’s legacy and memory survive, despite (or because of, depending upon your perspective of diminutive film-financier Spike Lee) inaccurate and inflammatory mass media depictions.

In a piece in the great “New York Times” (one of the few newspapers still left standing, although its footing is slippery at best), dated July 22, 2011, Times writer Shaila Dewan carefully reviews a new biography of the great leader and ever-evolving soul Malcolm X.

If you haven’t already guessed, I’m somewhat of a “fan” of Malcolm X, and personally feel that he has yet to be given due respect; but that’s another story for another time.

Here’s a link to the biography review. Please read it and let us know what your thoughts and feelings are on the text:

USA TODAY Poll Respondents Chart Racial Progress Since MLK

Gotta love our polls on the “racial divide,” interracial marriages, and interracial relations, huh?

They’re interesting if nothing else, and of course there are politicians (and those seeking political office) who rely heavily on them (usually because they can’t rely on intuition, in my humble estimation).

But here is another interesting (nonetheless) little ditty on interracial dating and “racial progress” (whatever that vague term means) since the death of MLK.

“Racial progress” is of course quite a relative term, when you think about just what those two words combined mean. They’re almost an oxymoronic term to many; that “progress” and “racial” could go together any more than “military intelligence.”

Since Obama has taken office as President, have race relations across America changed? Have job prospects gotten any better or worse since he took the oath of office? If you have an informed opinion, I’d love to hear it, especially if you can back it up.
